Jug for PEACE 1815.
Pottery jug 5.25 inches high. Under the title of "YHWH" (Yahweh) written in Hebrew text an angel holds a tablet with "Glory to GOD in the highest and on Earth PEACE." Under a dove with olive branch and the word "PEACE" one of two putti is reading the Bible at "JOHN Ch14 v27", (Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.)
The transfer on the reverse has "PEACE May its duration equal the Years of the WAR." The same transfer appears on a jar lid in the Willett Collection (item 424).

Jug for peace of 1815.
Pottery jug 4.75 inches high with pink lustre. The transfer shows a dove with olive branch in its mouth above shaking hands and the flag of the House of Bourbon (which was restored in 1815) and a British ensign. Above a putto is the verse:
"Thank GOD for the blessings of Peace, England, and France in unity be, May truth love and friendship increase, And Britons for-ever be free."
The reverse show a rural scene. A man in a boat is fishing in a lake beside a cottage with a ruined castle in the background.
