French ship Guillaume Tell ("GULIMOS TELL"). Flag with "VIVE REPUBLIC" (Vive la Republique). The ship was later captured and became HMS Malta.

Creamware plate 10 inches diameter. Un-named portrait with black border made possibly for his death. Reverse of plate impressed "HERCULANEUM" in small letters.

Pottery mug 6 inches tall. Britannia is seated with Neptune in his chariot. Neptune holds a shield on which is written "ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN TO DO HIS DUTY".

TRAFALGAR plate
Blue printed plate 6.25 inches in diameter. Under a Union flag is "TRAFALGAR". The Battle of the Nile is represented by a pyramid and crocodile. The Battle of Copenhagen is shown by a castle. In front of a cannon are 2 flags dipped as a sign of mourning. The 4 swimming figures blowing a conch as a horn are Triton, the son of Poseidon. The rim has anchors, a rose and the Greek Meander symbol representing eternity.

Pottery plate 8.25 inches in diameter with yellow rim for the death of Nelson.The central area shows a lady presenting another with an urn. The cartouches around the outside show:
a. an angel, most likely Fame, mourning at a tomb inscribed "NELSON r 21 1805" (the "r" being the end of "October".)
b. a lady classically dressed kneeling at a different tomb
c. Britannia accepting Neptune's trident as ruler of the waves.

Beyond 1805
This first 4 pictures show two Sunderland Lustre jugs made probably in the 1820s. One is marked PHILLIPS HYLTON POTTERY. Another pink lustre jug (not shown) has the same transfer but without the applied colours. This one has another transfer marked for Dixon & Co Sunderland.
The last 3 pictures show a jug, again made by Dixon circa 1820, with a transfer based on the one shown on the frog mug above.
